Starting July 23rd, 2012 and running until Aug 15th, 2012, RapidFire will be running the in-game advertising campaign for Atlantic Records, promoting a new album launch by UK artist ‘Plan B’.
The campaign is for Plan B’s new album called ‘Ill Manors’, and the ads can be seen running throughout various video games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. The ads are scheduled to run in several hit games such Fight Night Champion, NBA Jam, NHL 11, and several others too. Only players in the United Kingdom will be exposed to the ads for this campaign.
The type of in-game advertising that the Plan B campaign is utilizing is called ‘Dynamic In-Game Advertising‘. Dynamic In-Game Advertising is one of the most popular types of in-game ad options, where the ads are displayed on billboards and other strategic placements throughout a 3D game environment, and the ads can be inserted and removed in real time using an Ad Server…hence the ability to run the Plan B campaign over a short 2-3 week time period! 🙂
